Women's Volleyball Clinches No. 2 Seed for AMCC Playoffs; Lions Defeat Mt. Aloysius

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team swept Mt. Aloysius 3-0 in the regular-season finale in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.

Score: Penn State Behrend 3, Mt. Aloysius 0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-20)
Records: Penn State Behrend (13-12, 5-2 AMCC), Mt. Aloysius (10-16, 4-3 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* With the win, the Behrend Lions secured the No. 2 seed for the upcoming AMCC playoffs
* The Lions will receive a first-round bye and play in the semifinals at Alfred State on Saturday
* Behrend recognized the four seniors before the match
* Senior Sarah Cole (Jackson Center, PA/Lakeview) went 6-for-6 to hit 1.000 in the first set to help the Lions take a 1-0 lead with a score of 25-13
* Behrend held the Mounties to 12 points in the second set, while hitting .407 led by senior Brook Joncas' (Corry, PA/Corry) six kills
* Mt. Aloysius kept the third set interesting with seven ties but the Lions stayed out in front the entire set after the first point to win 25-20
* Joncas hit. 387 for the match, knocking down a team-best 13 kills and 31 attempts with one error
* Meg Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry) had 34 assists, seven digs and four kills
* With the 34 assists, Goodsel reached the 500 mark in assists for the season
* Kelli Hoffer (DuBois, PA/DuBois) tallied a team-high 18 digs
