Pioneers Drop Close Game

The Alfred State Men's Basketball team played against Pitt- Greensburg and fell 69-62. A tightly contested game saw eight ties and twelve lead changes throughout.

The Pioneers shot 42.9% from the field and played great defense, forcing 19 turnovers. Down 35-31 at half, Alfred State tied the game and took the lead early in the second half. With five minutes left to play, Pitt.- Greensburg went on a run of their own, taking and controlling the lead for the rest of the game. Although the Blue and Gold kept the game within reach, the y couldn't quite finish their comeback efforts.

Three Pioneers were in double digits. Cody Schneider (Belmont, NY / Genesee Valley Central School) had 16 points on the game. Schneider had an all-around effort, tallying six rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks. Dylan Perry (Kingston, NY / Kingston High School) had 17 points. Perry notched three steals on his stat line, along with two assists. Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY / East Side Community) had 10 points and four boards.

The Pioneers play again at Pitt.- Bradford on Wednesday, February 1 at 7 p.m.
