HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team started slowly and regained their composure in the second two sets, but dropped their home Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match to Medaille College in straight sets October 1.

Medaille started the match on a 6-0 run and Hilbert didn't recover losing 25-11.  The Hawks inched back in the second and third sets, but just didn't have enough to pull the win out. Hilbert fell 25-19 and 25-21 in an exciting final set of the match.

The Mavericks doubled-up the Hawks in kills (33-15) but committed more hitting errors (24-16).  Hilbert gave up nine points on serve receive errors while Chelsea Adamski gave the Hawks one service ace.  With so few Hilbert kills, Medaille was credited with 53 digs to keep the play alive.

Amanda Binder earned nine kills and Jordan Botsford was the only other Hawk to gather more than one.  Chelsea Adamski and Kayla Lewis collected a team-high seven digs for Hilbert.

The Hawks (2-13, 0-3) return to action this weekend when they travel to Fredonia for the Blue Devil Invite October 3 and 4.  Fans can follow
