Senior forward Ashley Repine posted her second double-double of the season combining 11 points with 10 rebounds while freshman guard Ashley Schroeder knocked in 11 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gawlak scored 18 of Hilbert's 26 first half points.
  • Gawlak and Taylor Corts scored first for the Hawks, and, after Gawlak drained a 3-pointer, Repine found room in the paint.
  • The Bobcats sank 50-percent of their field goal attempts (7-of-14) while the Hawks forced five Greensburg turnovers in the first 10 minutes.
  • The hosts went up by nine points (20-11) with their first offensive possession in the second quarter and extended their lead to 15 after only three minutes of play.
  • The Hawks went 0-for-5 from the floor, all attempts beyond the arc, before Gawlak converted a fast break layup at 6:03.
  • Hilbert went on a 13-4 run to close the first half.  Gawlak tossed in nine of those points with Repine and Emma Fredo chipping in two each.
  • The Hawks committed 11 turnovers and  were whistled for eight fouls in the first 20-minutes, after shooting 47.8-percent from the floor (2-of-10 3-pt) and making only 2-of-4 free throws.
  • Trailing by six points by intermission, the Hawks elevated their defensive intensity and were aggressive on the glass to establish the pace of the second half.
  • Schroeder earned a weakside offensive rebound and fed Gawlak for two, before Corts dumped into Repine in the paint.
  • Greensburg struggled on offense, and after three empty Hilbert trips, Schroeder finally knotted the game at 32-all.
  • Gawlak reached for a deep 2-pointer lifting Hilbert for the first time in the second half and less than 60-seconds later Schroeder connected from the other  baseline, this time counting as a 3-pointer.
  • Kisner hustled for an offensive rebound, fed Corts flashing down the lane and finished for two.
  • Greensburg went 1-for-2 at the foul line and then grabbed the offensive rebound.  That two freebie situation turned into a four-point play after the Bobcats connected beyond the arc, trimming the margin to one. 39-38.
  • Schroeder stretched the margin back to three and Demi Battin swatted a shot from the perimeter away  setting the score for the final session.
  • Corts fed a streaking Gawlak for two in the paint which turned into a 3-point play at the start of the final quarter.
  • Hilbert continued to pressure on defense, forcing quick shots or turnovers which allowed the guest to stretch their lead to double digits with 1:56 left in the game.
  • By the final horn, Hilbert earned six offensive rebounds and went 14-of-19 from the foul line in the fourth quarter  to earn the win.
GAME NOTES
  • Hilbert closed the game hitting 44.9-percent of their field goal attempts (22-of-49) with only three 3-point makes.  They connected on 17-of-25 free throws for the win.
  • After allowing the Bobcats to shot in the mid-40-percent in the first half, Hilbert's defensive pressure rushed Greensburg into a 14.3-percent (2-of-14) third quarter  performance which helped pull-out the win.
  • Neither team dominated the glass, other than Greensburg building a 15-11 advantage on the offensive boards.
  • Hilbert forced 17 Bobcat turnovers which the Hawks converted into 17 points.
  • Taylor Corts (5 points) and Emma Fredo finished with four and three assists, respectively while Macy Kisner, who was very active on the offensive glass, was only credited with five rebounds.
