ALFRED STATE FAR MATT LAWRENCE NAMED TO NCAA DIV. III NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Alfred State College Faculty Athletics Representative Matt Lawrence has been appointed to the NCAA Division III Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee is responsible for reviewing nominations for vacancies on all Division III-specific committees, including men's and women's sport committees, and for the Division III positions on committees functioning in an Association-wide or multidivisional capacity.  Members also develop procedures and policies for soliciting nominees, reviewing nominations and recommending appointments.

"It is an honor to be added to the roster for the NCAA Division III Nominating Committee.  I would like to thank  Alfred State for the ability to serve and the AMCC for the nomination.  I look forward to representing all NCAA Division III constituents at the national level," said Lawrence. "When I think about Division III, the words that comes to mind are access, inclusion, encouragement, and opportunity.  Who wouldn’t want to be part of that!  I am thankful for the chance to serve."

"Appointment to an NCAA committee is both an honor and a responsibility," said conference commissioner Donna Ledwin. "We are grateful for Matt's willingness to step up and accept this duty to represent both the AMCC and the FAR perspective on this important committee."

He joins fellow AMCC FARs Chuck Brown (Penn State Behrend, Management Council) and Tony Gaskew (Pitt-Bradford, Minority Opportunities & Interests Committee) representing the conference at the national level.
