CHRIS VISCUSO NAMED BEHREND STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Chris Viscuso returns to his alma mater for his second stint as the Penn State Behrend strength and conditioning coach.

Viscuso is transitioning from an assistant coach with the Behrend men's basketball program. Prior to last year, he spent the last 14 seasons as an assistant coach and director of performance enhancement at Division II Gannon University. Prior to Gannon, the Erie, Pa., native held the same position at Brescia (KY) University for 10 years.

Viscuso brings 26 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Behrend Lions. Prior to his arrival at Brescia, Viscuso was the strength and conditioning coach at Penn State Behrend for two seasons. Upon graduating from Penn State Behrend with a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1992, he served as an assistant for two seasons under Fred Paulsen.

Viscuso began his basketball career as a standout player at Mercyhurst Prep (Pa.) High School, where he played for Ed Zenewicz. In addition to playing in the City-Country All-Star Game, he earned All-Metro honorable-mention accolades as a senior. He later continued his playing career at Penn State Behrend.
