HOOD, SIZANI NAMED AMCC SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNS

Mount Aloysius College senior Jaden Hood and University of Pittsburgh at Bradford junior Sihle Sizani have been hired as social media interns by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for the 2020-21 academic year. The duo will manage the AMCC's social media accounts, help with NCAA and conference intiatives, and aid in managing championship events.

Hood is a senior women's lacrosse player from Huntingdon, PA majoring in Business and is very knowledgeable about what it takes to meet the needs of diverse audiences. “I am very thankful for this opportunity. I look forward to using my creativity to market and promote the AMCC. I am hoping this internship helps prepare me for my future career.”

Sizani, a junior men's soccer player from Washington, DC, is studying sport and recreation management at Pitt-Bradford and believes that the internship will provide him with some valuable experience. “I really look forward to using this internship to not only use the skills and knowledge gained in my classes, but also add to them,” said Sizani. “It will help give me a more diverse experience base in the field, as well as serve as an excellent networking opportunity,” he added.

Hood played an integral role in the start-up of the women's lacrosse program at Mount Aloysius. She was a member of the inaugural team in the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season where the goalie ranked second in the conference in saves and fourth in save percentage and goals-against. Hood is also a leader in the classroom, as she is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society.

Sizani is a three-year member of the Pitt-Bradford men's soccer team, starting 24 games in goal for the Panthers. He has won nine games, including seven last season. He posted a .767 save percentage which was the third-highest in the conference. He was also a factor in the team’s success in the classroom, as they recently received a team academic award from United Soccer Coaches.

Hood and Sizani began the internship on Oct. 5.
