Title IX expert Janet Judge brought her knowledge and experience to the AMCC in a pair of presentations to conference member administrators, coaches, athletic trainers, SIDs, FARs, and Title IX officers in November.
Judge met with representatives from Hilbert College, Medaille College, D'Youville College, Pitt-Bradford, Penn St. Behrend and Alfred State College in Western New York, then travelled to Western Pennsylvania to work with staff from La Roche University, Pitt-Greensburg, Mount Aloysius College, Penn St. Altoona and Franciscan University. Approximately 150 AMCC staff members took part.
"No one educates on Title IX in college athletics better than Janet Judge," said AMCC Commissioner Donna Ledwin. "Her presentations are always up to date on the latest interpretations and applications, and she just gets to the point. Everyone leaves better informed with practical ideas on how to make their programs better when it comes to gender equity."
Judge, an attorney with Holland & Knight, a Boston-based law firm, covered both gender equity and sexual harrassment and assault in her presentation.
