JEROMY YETTER NAMED ATHLETICS DIRECTOR AT PITT-GREENSBURG

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg has named Jeromy Yetter its director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Yetter, who arrived on campus August 13, brings more than 15 years of coaching and working at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels to his role at Pitt-Greensburg.

Yetter is a familiar face to the campus community, since he served as the head men's basketball coach and assistant director of athletics from 2008 to 2010. In addition to his coaching duties, he supervised the Ronnie Andrews Fitness Center, coordinated athletic facilities' schedules for all varsity teams and the Office of Student Services, and directed all aspects of the summer youth basketball camps held at the Hempfield Township campus. In 2010, Yetter coached the Bobcats to the 2010 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament. Under his direction, Dan Waajid earned 2009 AMCC Player of the Year and Second Team All-Great Lakes Region Player honors. Yetter's Bobcat squads ranked in the AMCC top five in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense, rebounding margin, blocked shots, assists, as well as attendance.

Yetter most recently served as an assistant men's basketball coach at the US Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD), where he oversaw an annual budget of more than $850,000 and helped to coordinate NCAA compliance forms for recruiting, participation, and eligibility. As a member of the Midshipman coaching staff, Yetter helped guide Navy to 55 wins in three seasons, including topping the 20-win mark in 2017-2018. He also assisted in monitoring the academic performance and progression of student-athletes and served as the head junior varsity coach. Yetter is credited with increasing the overall number of participants for all summer camps through strategic marketing efforts for youth, team, and prospect camps.

Prior to coaching at the US Naval Academy, Yetter served as the head men's basketball coach at the US Naval Academy Preparatory School (Newport, RI) for three years. There, he supervised the school's gym facility and helped initiate upgrades of the weight room, team locker room, and athletic training room. Yetter also oversaw an annual budget of $20,000 that was utilized for all team travel, meals, and hotels. Outside of his coaching duties, Yetter served as game manager for football, baseball, wrestling, as well as lacrosse.

Yetter's previous experience also includes serving as a physical education instructor at Slippery Rock University and as an assistant boys' basketball coach and a health and physical education teacher for the Greater Latrobe School District.

Prior to his first head coaching position at Pitt-Greensburg, Yetter worked as an assistant coach at Washington & Jefferson College (2007-08), Tusculum College (2005-07), and Slippery Rock University (2004-05).

A graduate of Lock Haven University with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education, Yetter played NCAA Division II basketball, earned scholar-athlete honors, and served as team captain.

Yetter and his wife, Jessica, and son Grayson (2) reside in Greensburg.
