PENN ST. ALTOONA BASKETBALL TEAMS VOLUNTEER WITH LOCAL YOUTH

Players and coaches from Penn State Altoona's men's and women's basketball teams volunteered in the 4th Annual Central Blair Recreation and Park Commission Basketball Clinic on Saturday, helping to provide basketball instruction to local youth and raise money for the CBRC's scholarship fund.

"It's great to be able to have our student-athletes and coaches work with young people in our community," said Penn State Altoona men's basketball head coach Billy Clapper. "This clinic has really grown, and it's nice to be able to help the CBRC raise money for their scholarship fund."

In two sessions of the clinic, a total of $800 was raised for the CBRC's scholarship fund, which helps to allow for participants from low-to-moderate income families take part in the activities and programming run by the CBRC. In addition to the Lions and Lady Lions donating their time, Subway was also a sponsor of the event and provided lunch to each participant.

Members of the Penn State Altoona basketball teams who volunteered at the clinic were women's basketball coaches Casey Shoup, John Nardozza, and Janelle Nardozza; women's basketball players Brittany Boslet, Alex Brooks, Olivia Erb, Nicole Gripp, Madison Mossellem, and Gabrielle Pizur; men's basketball coach Clapper; and men's basketball players Rogelio Christian Olan and CJ Fulare.
