Franciscan University senior Grace Galligan was the top finisher in the AMCC women's cross country championship race and is the 2018 AMCC Runner of the Year.
Galligan was the first woman to cross the finish line in Saturday's AMCC championship race to become a two-time individual champion. She finished the 6K race in 22:46.54, leading Franciscan to its first AMCC team title since 2014.

Courtwright, running in her first race since an early season injury, finished first in the La Roche Invitational with a time of 22:53.32. She averaged a 7:22 mile time in the race.
Crissman had an outstanding performance over the weekend at the Oberlin Invitational in Ohio. Crissman placed eighth overall in a field of more than 310 runners. Crissman posted the second fastest time ever by a Berhend Lion at Oberlin's course, finishing the race with a time of 22:29.2 Overall, the Behrend Lions placed 16th as a team in the invitational.
Ruszczyk took the top overall spot at the Meghan Memorial on Saturday, leading her team to a first place finish as well. Ruszczyk ran the fastest time out of all the women and she has done that for the Spartans throughout this season. She ahs been the best runner for the D'Youville women throughout the young season.
Crissman turned in another strong performance on Saturday at the Mike Woods Invite hosted by SUNY Geneseo. Crissman was the top PSB performer, finishing 11th overall (out of 232 runners) with a time of 23:13.1
Galligan and freshman Alison Bryant tied for first at the 2018 FUS Invite to lead the Lady Barons to a team win ... Galligan and Bryant tied for first with a time of 24:33.75 in the 6K and were 1:18 ahead of the next competitor.
Crissman had a strong performance on Friday, September 14 at the Behrend Invitational. Crissman led PSB to a second place team finish in the invite after finishing third overall out of 93 runners in the race with a time of 20:05.9.
On Friday, September 14, Penn State Behrend hosted the Behrend Invitational, while the Franciscan University cross country teams traveled to South Bend, IN for the National Catholic Championship hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
Carr had an outstanding start to her 2018 season, winning the Westminster College Fisher Invitational with an overall time of 23:40.66. Carr placed first out of 104 runners on Friday and she finished a full 15 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Penn State Behrend placed third as a team at the invite.
D'Youville College, Hilbert College, and Medaille College cross country teams all participated in the Daniel Walker Invitational hosted by Buffalo State on Saturday morning.
Penn State Behrend sophomore Savanna Carr led the entire field with a first place finish in the Westminster College Fisher Invitational on Friday with an overall time of 23:40.66. The Lions finished in third place, while the Franciscan University women finished right behind them in fourth place.
