BEHREND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TOP SEED IN UPCOMING TOURNAMENT

The 2021 AMCC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament kicks off on Wednesday evening with first round match-ups. #6 Mount Aloysius College will travel to #3 Penn State Altoona, while #4 Pitt-Bradford hosts #5 La Roche University. Regular season champion Penn State Behrend will be the top seed and will receive a first round bye, along with second-seeded Alfred State College

Top seed Penn State Behrend enters the conference tournament with a perfect 8-0 record. Leading the Behrend offensive attack is senior MH Kristin Reiland, who was the 2019 AMCC Co-Player of the Year. Reiland ranks second in the conference with 240 kills and third with 3.12 kills per set, while her .405 hitting percentage is good for second. On the defensive side, graduate student DS Maddie Clapper's 348 digs is second-best in the AMCC, while her 4.46 digs per set rank third. Junior MH Sarah Cole is second in the conference with 0.79 blocks per set and senior S Dani Kosslow ranks fourth with 8.05 assists per set. 

Entering the tournament with a 7-1 record is second seed Alfred State. The Pioneers boast several players who sit atop conference rankings in multiple statistical categories. Senior OH Kiara Perkins leads the AMCC with 0.90 service aces per set Junior MB Keturah Gregory's .507 hitting percentage is tops in the conference, along with her 0.80 blocks per set. Freshman S/L Nayomie Ferrer leads the league with 9.42 assists per set and is second with 0.85 service aces per set. 

With a 6-2 record, Penn State Altoona has earned the #3 seed. Junior OH Lydia Mock ranks second in the AMCC with 3.19 kills per set, while junior L Erin Lutz's 4.61 digs per set are also second. Junior S Kayla Moran sits third in the league with 8.93 assists per set and freshman MB Taylor Myers ranks third with a .333 hitting percentage. 

Pitt-Bradford has earned the #4 seed with a 5-3 record in conference action. Senior OH Emily Cleveland, also the 2019 AMCC Co-Player of the Year, has been a staple on the Panther offense for several years. Cleveland is tops in the AMCC with 321 kills and 4.01 kills per set. Freshman MH Jordan Sitler's 0.75 blocks per set are third-best in the conference, while her .323 hitting percentage is fourth . Freshman L Kayla Maslowski ranks sixth with 4.00 digs per set and junior S Tabitha Walker second with 8.95 assists per set. 

Coming in as the #5 seed is 4-4 La Roche. Senior L Sydney Herzer leads the Redhawks and the conference with 392 digs and 5.03 digs per set. Senior OH Bethany Nulph ranks fourth with 189 kills and freshman MH Quinn Hughes ranks sixth with 0.69 blocks per set. 

Rounding out the field is #6 Mount Aloysius with a 3-5 conference record. Leading the Mounties is junior L Abigail Fletcher with 4.23 digs per set, ranking fourth in the AMCC. Junior OH/S Ashlee Parrish leads the Mounties with 2.42 kills per set.

First round games will take place on Wednesday, November 3 at 7pm with #6 Mount Aloysius at #3 Penn State Altoona and #5 La Roche at #4 Pitt-Bradford.
