BEHREND'S IRWIN, PITT-BRADFORD'S ANDERSON SHARE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS

Penn State Behrend senior setter Lexi Irwin and Pitt-Bradford sophomore outside hitter Riley Anderson have been named 2018 AMCC Co-Players of the Year.

Irwin finished the regular season as the conference leader in attack percentage while producing nearly two kills per set. She also finished first in total assists (278) in conference play and second in assists per set (8.18). Her 27 total blocks and 0.79 blocks per set against AMCC teams both ranked second. Irwin led the Behrend Lions to a regular season title and a runner-up finish in the conference tournament, while also being named to the AMCC all-tournament team. 

Anderson led the conference and finished the regular season 65th in NCAA Division III with 346 total kills and third in the AMCC and 63rd nationally with 3.64 kills per set. Her 3.81 kills per set in conference play led the AMCC. Anderson was the go-to player for one of the top hitting teams in the conference, she led the AMCC with 986 total attacks, was seventh in the conference with 374 total digs and averaged 3.94 digs per set. Anderson led the Panthers to the 2018 AMCC women's volleyball championship and was named to the AMCC all-tournament team. 

Behrend freshman outside hitter Kristin Reiland picks up Newcomer of the Year honors. Reiland finished the regular season third in attack percentage (first in conference matches), ninth in kills per set and points per set, and fifth in total blocks in conference matches.

Coach of the Year honors goes to Mount Aloysius College head coach Brianna Baker. Baker led the Mounties to a 17-11 overall record and an 8-1 conference mark, tying them with Penn St. Behrend at the top of league standings for the best season in program history.
