PITT-GREENSBURG WOMEN'S TENNIS SEASON COMES TO END IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

It was an historic season for the Pitt-Greensburg women’s tennis team as they won its second-straight AMCC Regular Season Championship, followed by the Bobcats first AMCC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament Bid. Unfortunately, the run came to an end in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament as UPG dropped their matchup to Denison 5-0.

Even with the lobsided final score, the Bobcats were battling with every flight as they forced deuce in many of the games over the course of the day. Perhaps the match of the day went on to be unfinished as the Big Red made it to 5-0 before Bobcat sophomore Emily Ruhlman and Denison player Sydney Cianciola could come to a decision. Ruhlman had a chance in the first set, however dropped it 6-3 as she was frustrating Cianciola with every point.

Amber Sterrett and Isabella Lane were able to get on the board in singles playing the No. 5 and No. 6 spot respectively.  Sterrett lost 1-6,0-6 and Lane dropped set one 0-6 and did not get to finish set two as it was 1-3 when the match ended.

The 2021-2022 season was a record setter for the Bobcats as the team had plenty of team and individual success.
