Standout performances continue as Day 3 of the AMCC Swimming and Diving Championships wrap up at the Junker Center poll in Erie.
The host Penn St. Behrend wonmen continue to lead Cabrini College, 410.5-326.5, after 26 events. Alfred State College is in third with 221 total points, while Franciscan University is fourth (204), Penn State Altoona is fifth (199) and Pitt-Bradford is sixth (115).
The Lions had 3 first place finishes: 200 medley relay (Maryn Horn, Kristin Owens, Claire Mallick, Jessica Wyckoff), the 400 IM (Anna Watterson) and the 100 backstroke (Horn). Other top honors went to Cabrini's Christina Melchiorre (200 freestyle), Alfred State's Alison Sell (100 breaststroke), and Franciscan's Elizabeth McNulty (100 butterfly).
The Behrend men holds a commanding lead after day three. The Lions, who recorded 290 points over the first two days, almost doubled their total and remain in first place with 521 points through 26 events. Pitt-Bradford is second (273), Alfred State is third (246), Cabrini is in fourth (196) and Penn State Altoona is in fifth (176).
The host team posted four top times on Friday: Mark Patterson (200 freestyle), Nick Kost (400 IM), Nick Roth (100 butterfly), Ryan Elsey (100 breaststroke). Also winning gold were Pitt-Bradford's 200 medley relay (Corey Koss, Noah Frederick, Lucas Cerchiaro, Nick Boyd), and Koss again in the 100 backstroke.
