AMCC RELEASES WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM, BEHREND'S HORN NAMED SWIMMER OF THE YEAR

Penn State Behrend junior Maryn Horn has been named the AMCC Women's Swimmer of the Year. Horn had a standout year breaking the Lion team records in the 50 Free twice this season, as well as breaking team records in both the 100 Free and 50 Back. At the AMCC Championships, Horn was the High-Point winner of the meet. She won every individual and relay she swam and in the process broke 13 records. Her 50 Free broke meet, conference, and team records with her prelim performance of 24.24. She also broke meet, conference and team records in the 100 free with a 53.25. Horn's final individual was a PR by one second for a 1:00.75. She was also a member of four championship relays. The 200 Free Relay broke meet, conference and team records with a time of 1:39.98, 400 Medley Relay broke a 12-year old pool record with a time of 4:10.70, the 400 Free Relay also broke meet, conference and team records by over two seconds at 3:40.36. Finally, Horn led off the winning 200 Medley Relay with a team record in 50 back of 27.41 for a final time of 1:54.96.

Alfred State freshman Rebecca Stevens is the AMCC Women's Diver of the Year. Stevens was the Co-Diver of the AMCC Championship Meet. She finished first in the 3m with a score of 211.90 and was second in the 1m competition with a 170.65. Stevens was named AMCC Diver of the Week three times and is the school record holder in the 1m and 3m.

Penn State Altoona freshman Emily Booz has been selected as the AMCC Women's Swimming Newcomer of the Year. Booz stepped into the Lady Lions' lineup midseason and made a big impact. At the AMCC Championships, she had a hand in establishing five new team records (200 Backstroke, 200 IM, 200 Freestyle Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay), including winning the AMCC final in the 200 Backstroke. For her performance during the conference championships, she was awarded the ECAC Division III South Region Swimmer of the Week. In three January meets prior to the AMCC Championships, Booz recorded four individual first places (100 Backstroke, 50 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 IM) and helped her team win two relays (200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay).

Franciscan University head coach Cassandra Pyle and Cabrini University head coach Cindy Ikeler have been named the AMCC Women's Swimming & Diving Co-Coaches of the Year. Pyle led the Lady Barons to a fourth place finish at the 2017 AMCC Championships, after a last place finish in 2016. Ikeler led the Cavaliers to a second place finish at this year's championship meet.
