Megan Dulniak, D'Youville College, Women's Soccer - Defensive

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: D'Youville GK Megan Dulniak had an exceptional week for the Spartans as the team went 2-0. Dulniak started each game for D'Youville and played 90 minutes each game, recording a shutout in each game. In the first game of the week against Houghton, Dulniak made a pair of saves behind an outstanding back line for the Spartans as the team defeated the Highlanders 1-0. On Saturday against Pitt.-Greensburg, the women again had an outstanding defensive effort in a 1-0 victory where Dulniak made three saves. She currently leads the Spartans in every statistical category and is tied for fourth in the AMCC in wins (4) and minutes played (1239:18), is fifth in saves (89) and save percentage (.809), and tied for second in shutouts (5).

 

BEST OF THE REST: Pitt-Bradford GK Sarah Dailey made 14 total saves as the Panthers went unbeaten this week in their two conference games, including three saves and her fifth clean sheet of the season against Medaille on Tuesday...Mount Aloysius GK Leanne Cardoso-Bastos allowed just one goal and had a .929 save percentage while making 13 saves for the Mounties, including a shutout against Hilbert...PS-Altoona GK Sydney Emershaw made two saves while logging 73:36 in goal to help Penn State Altoona shut out AMCC opponent Medaille College 4-0 on Saturday...PS-Behrend D Sami Lowry helped the Lions to pair of shut outs this week, as she anchored the defense that held Hilbert and Franciscan to three shots a piece, while also adding two assists, one in each game...La Roche D Marissa Johnson scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Pitt-Greensburg...Hilbert D Brooklynn Gormel led the team defensively by organizing the team, limiting shots on goal, and breaking up plays in the Hawks defensive third.
