The AMCC Women's Soccer Game of the Week features Hilbert College at Penn State Altoona on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks enter the game with a 2-1 conference record, while the Lions are 2-1-1 in AMCC play

The Hilbert College Women’s Soccer team rebounded from a four-game losing streak in early September and currently sit at 4-6 with a 2-1 AMCC record.  The Hawks opened league action with a pair of wins (Carlow and Mount Aloysius) before falling mid-week to Alfred State on the road. Forward Grace Zabawa has led the offensive push with 14 points (5g) while M Chloe Champagne (11 points) works the middle of the field well earning her first career hat-trick against Carlow a week ago.  M Hannah Brock and D Kaitlyn Sobczak join Champagne as the only three players to appear in all 10 games this fall.  Brock and Sobczak work well on the defensive half of the field, breaking up attacks and feeding the ball forward. The Hawks have a deep pool of goalies to chose from with freshman Jordan Brown recording a 2.51 goals against average and a 3-2 record in net.

Penn State Altoona women’s soccer enters Saturday’s home game against AMCC opponent Hilbert with a 2-1-1 conference record. Senior forward/midfielder Mallorie Smith has been having a sensational season for the Lions, as she leads the AMCC in goals (9), points (19), shots (36), and shots on goal (28). Meanwhile, junior midfielder Camryn Kurilla has scored three goals and added two assists for a total of eight points. At goalkeeper, freshman Nicole Schwartz has been part of two shutouts this season and is coming off of a week in which she was named the AMCC’s Defensive Player of the Week.
