BEHREND, PITT-GREENSBURG PUNCH TICKETS TO WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

The #1 Penn State Behrend Lions and #2 Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats each earned a victory in the semifinal round of the AMCC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament to advance to the title game to be played on Saturday afternoon. The top-seeded Lions defeated #4 Mount Aloysius College 4-0, while Pitt-Greensburg earned the 7-0 victory over #6 Penn State Altoona. 

Penn State Behrend 4, Mount Aloysius 0
Senior D Kristi Buckenheimer registered her first multiple-goal game of her career to lead the Lions, as she not only kept Mount Aloysius off the scoreboard, but she tallied the game winner off a penalty kick. With 3:34 left to play in the first half, Behrend was awarded a penalty kick with a foul on Lizzie Hoff in the box. Buckenheimer converted her second PK of the season and netted her fifth goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. Buckenheimer struck again to start the second half off a corner kick. Ashley Ornowski took the corner kick in the 52nd minute and Buckenheimer sent a low-trajectory shot after collecting the ball amongst a scramble. The Lions took a 3-0 lead in the 71st minute by Rachel Sickeri finishing her ninth goal of the season with a long ball from the right side. Less than four minutes later, Nicole Croushore tallied her first goal of the season off a pass from Audra Kuzma Immediately after a direct kick, Kuzma kicked the ball back to Croushore for the fourth goal of the game. Behrend GK Riley Morningstar endured the cold and made two saves on both shots taken on goal for her 11th win.

Pitt-Greensburg 7, Penn State Altoona 0
It was a scoring frenzy for the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team as they defeated the Lions of Penn State Altoona 7-0 to return to the programs fourth-consecutive AMCC Championship Game. Megan Hickey had a brace in the game while Maya Wertelet scored her 18th goal of the season. Sarah Tonkovich, Logan Jennings, Maggie Knorr, and Abby Henise also scored for the Bobcats. Pitt-Greensburg out shot Altoona 27 to five while junior keeper Paige John made saves on both shots she faced. 

Penn State Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg will face off in the AMCC Women's Soccer Championship Game for the fourth consecutive year. Game time is set for 2pm on the campus of Penn State Behrend.
