AMCC Women's Soccer Game of the Week
D'Youville College @ Penn State Altoona
Saturday, October 21 at 3:15 p.m.

Penn State Altoona women’s soccer (5-9, 3-3 AMCC) hosts D’Youville College (5-7-2, 3-3 AMCC) in its final regular season home game of the fall on Saturday, October 21, and both teams are fighting to secure a berth into the AMCC Tournament. The Lady Lions and Spartans are tied for sixth place in league standings, but with six teams making the postseason tournament, only one team will advance to the playoffs.

D'Youville is coming into Saturday’s game as winners of two in-a-row and three of their last four. With two of their last three wins coming over conference opponents, the team’s defense has taken center stage and helped propel the team to a 3-3 conference record. Coming off an AMCC Defensive Player of the Week selection, goalkeeper Megan Dulniak has been outstanding as of late. She has recorded three shutouts in their last four games, including two last week and two conference games. On offense, forward Makenna Magee has been leading the way for the Spartans. The freshman leads the team in points (14), assists (4), and is tied for the team lead in goals (5). Also adding plenty to the offense is midfielder Marina Campbell, who scored her first career hat-trick against Medaille.

Senior forward Shoshana Mahoney is having a career year offensively for Penn State Altoona, and she currently ranks second in the conference in goals (15), game-winning goals (3), points (32), shots (71), and shots on goal (41). Freshman midfielder Kierra Irwin has had an impressive first year, tying for first on her team in assists (4) while ranking second in goals (3), points (10), shots (47), and shots on goal (29). Junior goalkeeper Sydney Emershaw is third in the AMCC in saves (100) and fourth in wins (5).
