MOUNT ALOYSIUS WOMEN'S SOCCER HONORED WITH NSCAA SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team was honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award.

The award recognized a total of 100 men's and women's collegiate soccer teams across the country for exhibiting fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game. The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is given to NSCAA members at four levels. Teams honored at the platinum level went an entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow card or red card. Teams honored at the gold (1-10%), silver (11-30%) and bronze (31-50%) levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team's total number of games played.

The Mounties earned the Bronze Award after accumulating zero red cards and only 10 yellow cards throughout the 2016 season, a season in which the Mounties went 12-7-1 overall and reached the AMCC playoffs while winning a conference playoff game for the first time in program history.
