BEHREND'S BELACK, WEYAND PICK UP WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS

Penn St. Behrend junior F Olivia Belack has been tabbed as the 2016 AMCC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year. Belack led the league with 18 goals and nine assists for 45 points. She tied the program record for most points in a season (45). Belack finished the regular season tied for assists (8) and is second in goals (10) and game-winning goals (3) in conference games only. She was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29. Belack ranks statistically in NCAA Division III in several categories, including ninth in points (45), 14th in goals (18) and 17th in points per game (2.50). 

Behrend junior defender Rachel Weyand has been selected as the AMCC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. Weyand helped the Lion defense only concede three goals and posted six shutouts in nine AMCC games. She had three assists and started every game. Overall for the season, she recorded two goals and four assists for eight points as a defender. 

Pitt-Greensburg freshman F Jessica Moore is the 2016 Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Year. Moore helped Pitt-Greensburg to the second-most goals in the conference (30) despite limited minutes after a return from injury. Moore rejoined the lineup in the second conference game and picked up points in six of her eight AMCC matches played, including three multiple goal games. The rookie finished the season ranked first among all freshman in goals (8) and points (20). Doing the bulk of her offensive output during AMCC play, Moore also ranked first among freshman in goals (7) and points (18) while finishing second in assists (4). She finished the regular season ranked sixth in the AMCC in conference points (18), sixth in Goals (7), tied for fifth in assists (4), and fifth in points/game at 2.25. 

Hilbert College head coach Kelly Starchok picks up her first Coach of the Year honors. Starchok guided the Hawks to an incredible turn-around season, as they finished in ninth place with one conerence win just one year ago. Hilbert, who finished with a 9-7-1 overall record, and 4-4-1 in conference play, earned the #5 seed in the 2016 women's soccer championship tournament.
