MEDAILLE TAKES EARLY LEAD IN BOWLING ROUND ROBIN

Medaille College went 4-0 on the first day of the AMCC February round robin at Classic Lanes in Kenmore, NY.

The Mavericks were challenged from the get-go, with three of four matches against their closest competitors in the standings.  They rose to the occasion by defeating New Jersey City University (1,041-845); Mount Aloysius College (983-928) and St. Vincent College (977-842), along with Penn St. Altoona (984-656).  The Mavs earned a 199.3 team average over the four contests.

St. Vincent came out of the blocks with a 1,026-1,008 defeat of Mount Aloysius, including a 243 game.  The Bearcats posted a 185.9 team average on the day, to the Mounties' 185.3.

Rounding out the field was Pitt-Bradford (171.1), New Jersey City University (161.4), Penn St. Altoona (150.5) and Hilbert College (132.1)

The five game Baker format competition will continue starting at 9am Sunday with three matches remaining.
