The D'Youville College women's basketball team travels to Altoona, PA on Saturday to take on the Penn State Altoona Lions in the AMCC Game of the Week. The Spartans and Lions have identical 3-1 records in conference play and are tied for second place in the AMCC. 

The D’Youville women’s basketball team has been one of the top teams in the AMCC throughout their first four games this season. The Spartans have been widely led by their youth this season. The top four scorers for the women are all freshmen or sophomores. Sophomore point guard Danielle Hore continues to be the leader of the young Spartan squad as she leads the team with 12.2 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, 4.8 assists per game, and is second with 1.7 steals per game. Freshman Haley Kirisits has been huge for the women at both ends of the court as she is second on the team with 6.3 rebounds per game, is third with 8.9 points per game, has been named AMCC Player of the Week once and has tallied two double-doubles this season. Fellow freshman Elizabeth Bradley has been a big-time scoring option for the women, averaging 10.4. As for the upperclassmen, Sydney Alton has been outstanding as of late as she is coming off her first career double-double.

Penn State Altoona, who is coming off of a big win over Mount Aloysius Wednesday night, wraps up its four-game homestand against AMCC opponent D’Youville College on Saturday, December 14. Junior guard/forward Alexis Cannistraci, the reigning AMCC Player of the Week, is second in the conference in points per game with 17.7 points per game and fifth in rebounds per game with 9.6. Senior guard Finnley Christine is 12th in the AMCC in points per game with 12.3, and has moved up into second place on the Penn State Altoona women’s basketball program’s all-time scoring list. Fellow starters, junior guard Sydney Snyder and senior guard/forward Kaley Strittmatter, are adding 10.3 points per game and 7.6 points per game, respectively. Freshman guard Sarah Huston is providing 10.9 points per game off of the bench.
