AMCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: LA ROCHE @ HILBERT

AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week:
La Roche University @ Hilbert College

Top-ranked La Roche University (16-1) travels to Hamburg, NY on Saturday afternoon to take on second place Hilbert College (14-3) in the AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week. 

La Roche women’s basketball has defeated every team in the conference at least once this season and currently sits atop the AMCC standings with a 16-1 league record, putting the Redhawks two games ahead of second place Hilbert (14-3). LRU defeated the Hawks earlier this season on January 18th at the Kerr, 84-69. La Roche headed into the final quarter trailing by one point before outscoring the visitors 27-11 in the fourth. As of late, senior F Jenna Cole is playing some her best basketball of the season, scoring at least 20 points in three of her last four games while shooting 72% (31-43) from the field during that span. Cole has averaged 16.5 points per game in AMCC action (5th best in AMCC). Junior G Ayanna Mazyck has scored at least 14 points in each of her last eight games. Shaundrea Butler has dished out four or more assists in 13 straight contests. Butler ranks 2nd in the league in assists per game (4.9). LRU has won six games this season by 25 or more points. The top seeds in the conference have split their last four meetings two games apiece. 

Hilbert College secured their four consecutive post-season appearance after they earned a 74-60 AMCC victory over Pitt-Bradford February 12.  In that game, senior guard Emily Gawlak become the program’s all-time leading scorer knocking down 22 points.  She also added eight rebounds and four steals and assists in the win. Gawlak continues to lead the league in scoring with 17.9 ppg and assists at 2.5 a clip.  Senior G Taylor Corts (14.9 ppg) has played every game with Gawlak and the duo have lifted Hilbert to a 14-3 league record. Freshman forward Macy Kisner leads the Hawks in blocks, rebounds per game (8.8) and moves well in the open court off a defensive rebound while senior forward Ashley Repine (9.8 ppg/6.5 rpg) is returning to game speed and production after a preseason injury slowed her progression.
