AMCC SOFTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: D'YOUVILLE @ PITT-BRADFORD

AMCC Softball Game of the Week:
D'Youville College @ Pitt-Bradford
Thursday, April 18 at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

The AMCC Softball Game of the Week features the D'Youville College Spartans traveling to Bradford, PA to take on the Pitt-Bradford Panthers in what looks to be a beautiful day for softball. The Spartans and Panthers continue to try and climb the conference standings as the regular season begins to wind down and the teams start looking toward the postseason.

D’Youville is coming off their fourth consecutive conference split this past weekend as they enter Game of the Week with a 6-4 conference record after defeating the Penn State-Behrend Lions and La Roche last week – splitting their doubleheaders. Ashley Carney has regained form as one of the best hitters in the conference, tallying hits in each game last week. She leads the team with 31 hits and a .425 batting average – fifth in the AMCC. Megan Meyer has shouldered a great deal of the offensive weight as well for the women as she is second on the team in hits and batting average while leading the way in stolen bases and RBI. Alexa Haberer has been logging most of the innings in the circle. She leads the team in ERA, wins, innings pitched, and strikeouts and has pitched one no-hitter this season already.

Pitt-Bradford welcomes D'Youville with the AMCC's second-longest active winning streak of four games, having swept Medaille last Wednesday before sweeping Penn State-Altoona Saturday on the road. On the season, Maddy Hillery leads the team with a .432 batting average and is hitting a staggering .581 in conference play, which is the second-best AMCC average. Gabby Carpenter also has the AMCC's most triples in conference play with four. In the circle, Jordan Uhing's 11 wins are tied for the most in the conference coming into the week and her 2.51 ERA is fourth best.
