BEHREND'S BUFFINGTON AND PARSONS TABBED ALL-ACADEMIC
Penn St. Behrend's Dylan Buffington and Jacob Parsons were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country (USTFCCCA) 2015 Division III Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
Penn St. Behrend's Dylan Buffington and Jacob Parsons were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country (USTFCCCA) 2015 Division III Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
Buffington and Parsons were chosen for achieving above a 3.40 cumulative GPA and placing in the Top 25 percent of the NCAA Regional.
Both freshmen, Buffington and Parsons, were selected to the NCAA Mideast Region All-Freshman Team for their Top Seven finish at the NCAA Regionals. Buffington was named AMCC Newcomer of the Year while Parsons finished second at the conference championship. Both were selected to the AMCC All-Conference squad.
The USTFCCCA honors Division I, II and III student-athletes who maintain high academic as well as athletic standards during their season of competition. 326 women and 247 men in Division III earned USTFCCCA 2014 All-Academic honors.
Division III student-athletes are required to carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (out of 4.0) through the end of the fall semester of competition. Also, the student-athlete must place in the top 25% of finishers within their respective NCAA Division III Regional Championship.
