PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hiram S Andrew Diaz de Padilla tallied 69 assists, 11 digs, five kills and four aces giving Hiram a 2-0 week to win the NCAC Showdown. Diaz de Padilla helped the Terriers get two wins vs. Wittenberg and Wabash, both in 3-1 fashion on Sunday afternoon. The Nipomo, Calif. native was named to the All-Showdown team as Hiram claimed victory in the event. For the week, the senior averaged 8.63 assists/set, 1.38 digs/set and 0.63 kills/set. Hiram is now 6-3 on the year having won four-straight matches.
BEST OF THE REST: Medaille OPP/MB Matt Dickerson had a total of 30 kills in the Mavs' three matches, as he went 30-70, averaging 10 kills per match, while also hitting .214 and totaling five digs, two blocks, and one assist this week...PS-Altoona OH Jared Bodisch had a strong match in a 3-0 win at Wilkes on Thursday, finishing with 14.0 points (4.7 points per set), eight kills (2.67 kills per set), six service aces (2.0 aces per set), and six digs (2.0 digs per set), while also recording an impressive .583 attack percentage...Thiel FR JC Govannucci led the Tomcats with 29 kills in four matches (2.42 k/s) last week, while also recording 11 digs (0.92 d/s)...Hilbert OH Brad Converse contributed to the Hawks in every category against Elmira and Sage putting up a combined total of 25 kills (20 of which against Sage), four aces, three digs, and a block assist.
