CALVIN CROSBY TO LEAD HILBERT MEN'S & WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAMS

CALVIN CROSBY TO LEAD HILBERT MEN'S & WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAMS

Hilbert College Athletic Director Megan Valentine is excited to introduce Calvin Crosby as the Hawks' first full time head coach for both the men's and women's volleyball programs with additional duties as the athletic department's Camps and Clinics Coordinator.

Coach Crosby immediately takes over the reins of the women's volleyball program, and he will reignite the men's volleyball program that has been on hiatus since the 2017 season.

Since 2017, he has guided the Niagara County Volleyball Club's 16-2's and 15-2's girls teams while, at the same time, coaching the 18-1's and 18-2's boys in the Lockport Volleyball Club.  In both the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Crosby was a member of the Starpoint High School coaching staff which steered the Spartans to 20 wins spanning 2018 and 2019. Previously, Crosby served as an assistant men's volleyball coach at Medaille College (2018-2019 seasons).  His teaching and coaching, in addition to the administrative work at both clubs and collegiate levels will shorten the learning curve expected with a rookie collegiate coach.

Crosby received numerous athletic and academic honors in both the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) as a student-athlete.  The 6-7 Right Side was voted to the NEAC All-Conference First Team and was named the AMCC Co-Player of the Year in 2017.  He was a 3x AMCC All-Conference player earning First Team accolades in 2015 & 2017 and a Second Team honor in 2016.  The Pendleton, N.Y. native helped the Medaille Mavericks post back-to-back NEAC regular season and championship titles (2015 & 2016).  Crosby, a 2016 Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Academic Honor Society inductee, earned AMCC Academic All-Conference recognition all four years, Peak Performer status the last three years and was named a NEAC Scholar-Athlete twice.

Crosby graduated from Medaille College in 2017 with a degree in education and most recently served as a special education teacher for Niagara Falls High School.
