WITTENBERG TAKES TOP SPOT IN FIRST-EVER AMCC MEN'S VOLLEYBALL PRESEASON POLL

The 2019 AMCC men’s volleyball season is expected to be an exciting one, as it marks the first conference postseason tournament with the new affiliate members. In the first-ever AMCC men’s volleyball preseason poll, Wittenberg University is expected to finish in the top spot. League coaches look for Penn State Behrend to finish second, with Penn State Altoona rounding out the top three.

Penn State Behrend senior OH Dillon Hildebrand and Wittenberg senior MH Isaiah Brock have been selected as AMCC Preseason Co-Players of the Year. Hildebrand led the Behrend men's volleyball team to their first-ever regular season AMCC Championship in the seven-year history of the conference sport after posting a 3-1 record during the 2018 regular season. He finished the season ranked first in the AMCC in total kills (310) and second in kills per set (3.48). He also finished second in points per set (3.9) and third in total aces (25). His 0.28 aces per set put him fourth in the conference, while his 1.81 digs per set was twelfth.

Brock has been a leader of the Tiger men's volleyball team since its inception in 2016. The middle hitter from Noblesville, Ind. started in every match for Wittenberg in 2018, putting down 152 kills on 319 attempts with a .323 kill percentage. Brock also plays offense with his defense, contributing 67 total blocks to the season in 2018.

The AMCC Championship will be held April 13-14 at the site of the #1 seed.
