MEDAILLE TO ADD MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

The Medaille College Athletic Department is pleased to announce that starting in Fall 2019, Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving will officially become the 17th and 18th sponsored sports at Medaille College.

"We are happy to announce the addition of Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving to the rich tradition of Medaille College Athletics," said Medaille College Athletic Director Amy DeKay. "This is an exciting time as we continue to expand and provide the student-athletes with even greater experiences."

Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving will start its inaugural season in 2019-20 as a club sport, then will graduate to becoming a fully sponsored NCAA sport in the fall of 2020.

It has also been announced that the Mavericks will host their home meets and practice at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center on the City Campus of ECC. Built to host the World University Games in June of 1994, the poll at the Burt Flickinger Center is Olympic-sized with eight lanes and a 25-meter warm-up pool.

Swimming and Diving consists of many different events, both individual and team relays, including the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle.

Traditionally the NCAA Swimming and Diving season begins in mid-October, with the season wrapping up at the NCAA Division III Championships taking place this year in Greensboro, North Carolina from March 20-23.

A national search is underway to find the first Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Head Coach. For more information on the open Head Coaching position, please visit the College's website, www.medaille.edu/jobs.
