PENN STATE BEHREND TOPS MEN'S SOCCER PRESEASON POLL

Garnering five first place votes, Penn State Behrend has been selected by AMCC coaches to finish at the top of the men’s soccer standings in 2018. After being crowned conference champions one year ago, Medaille College is expected to finish in second place, while league coaches look to Mount Aloysius College to round out the top three.

Medaille junior midfielder Mitchell Ali has been tabbed as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. In 2017, Ali led the Mavericks with 11 goals on his way to being named an AMCC first team all-conference selection and an NSCAA All-Great Lakes second team selection.

Behrend junior goalkeeper Chris Ralph picks up Defensive Preseason Player of the Year honors for the second year in a row. Ralph was named the 2017 AMCC Defensive Player of the Year and was named first team all-region for the second consecutive year. He ended his sophomore season averaging .73 goals-against while allowing only four conference goals to rank first in the AMCC. Ralph accumulated eight shutouts during the regular season to rank him 13th in the country

The AMCC Championship will be held November 3 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
