PENN ST. BEHREND'S MAURER AND BRINSKY HONORED BY ECAC

A duo of Penn St. Behrend men's soccer players were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference Wednesday afternoon. Senior defender Ryan Maurer was named the Defensive Player of the Month for the month of October in the South region, while freshman forward Logan Brinsky was named the Rookie of the month.

Maurer had an outstanding month on both sides of the ball for the Lions. He captained the stout Penn State Behrend defense that allowed only five goals in league play in 2018. In addition to his play defensively, Maurer tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points.  He scored three goals in the AMCC Tournament and was named to the AMCC All-Tournament team.

Brinsky worked his way into the starting lineup in the final month of the season starting nine of their final 10 games. Brinsky scored his first career hat trick against Pitt-Bradford on Oct. 9. Brinsky also scored a pair of goals in the AMCC Semifinals against Franciscan. For the month he totaled six goals for twelve points and .813 shots-on-goal percentage.
