MEDAILLE GOLFERS OPEN UP SPRING SEASON WITH SIXTH PLACE FINISH

The Medaille College men's golf team returned to the course on Tuesday in their first ever spring tournament as they traveled to Penn Yan, NY for the Keuka College Spring Invitational.

Sophomore Chuck Panepinto finished in a tie for fifth place with a team low 78/ 6.
SUNY Cobleskill took home the team honors with a 315/ 27. Oswego State and SUNY Delhi tied for runner up with matching 322/ 34 scores.  Utica College finished fourth (325/ 37), Hobart fifth (339/ 51), Medaille sixth (343/ 55), Penn College seventh (347/ 59), Morrisville State eighth (352/ 64) and the host Keuka College brought home ninth (366/ 78).

Cobleskill's Shawn Westridge took home medalist with a (73/ 1) on the day.

Panepinto shot a solid 78/ 6 to come in a tie for fifth place individually.

Freshman Ryan Langhorne shot an 85/ 13 to help contribute for the Mavs.

Sophomore Zach Lewandowski hit a shot to remember as he recorded his first career hole-in-one on his way to an 88/ 16.

The Mavericks will return to action next week when they go to the Thiel College Golf Invitational on Monday.
