PENN ST. ALTOONA PLACES FIFTH AT GETTYSBURG INVITATIONAL

Penn State Altoona men's golf took part in the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday at Hanover Country Club, and the Lions clinched fifth place out of 11 teams.

Penn State Altoona shot 320 as a team, the squad's second-lowest score of the 2016 season.

The Lions were led by a pair of freshmen. Pongthong Thongyai paced the Lions by shooting a 78 on the par 71 course, tying for 13th place individually out of 62 golfers. Matt Krupa fired a season-best 80 to tie for 20th place.

Senior Matt Dillon and sophomore Adam Osborne each carded an 81 to tie for 24th, and sophomore Carl Gelardi rounded out the team by shooting 89 to tie for 52nd place.
