BEHREND WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT AMCC MEN'S GOLF TITLE

Five time defending champion Penn St. Behrend made it six in a row with a strong second day at the AMCC men's golf championship.

With a team total of 630, the Lions also claimed the top two individual scorers, with junior Sean Sculley carding a two day total of 150 (76-74) to earn medalist honors and junior Ryan Matlock shooting a 152 (75-77) as the runner-up.

La Roche College pushed Behrend throughout the 36 hole event at Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club, but finished 11 strokes behind with a 641.  The Redhawks, who recorded their fourth team runner-up finish of the season, got strong performances from junior Ben Mullins (80-75-155), who finished third overall, and senior Drake Hoberek (78-83-161) who tied Pitt-Bradford junior Brett Gardner for fourth place.

With the tournament title comes the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament which will be played May 16-17 at Mission Inn Resort and Club at Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.
