BEHREND GOLFERS HOLD SLIM LEAD OVER LA ROCHE AFTER DAY ONE

Five time defending champion Penn St. Behrend concluded the first 18 holes of competition with a narrow seven stroke lead over La Roche College in the AMCC men's golf tournament at Avalon Lakes Country Club.

The Lions were led by junior Ryan Matlock, who leads the field after day one with a 75.  The team carded a collective 313, with four players ranked in the top ten.  The Redhawks earned their team score of 320 by placing three in the top ten, including a team-best 78 by senior Drake Hoborek.

Play continues at 9am Monday.  The team champion will earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament.
