BEHREND GOLFERS PLACE TWO IN TOP TEN AT GANNON INVITATIONAL

The Penn State Behrend men's golf team placed sixth out of eight teams with a score of 320 at the Gannon Spring Invitational held at Whispering Woods on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions had two players in the Top 10 led by junior Ryan Matlock with a team-low score of 75 to tie for fifth place overall. Junior Sean Sculley was one stroke behind with a 76 to tie for seventh.

Division II California won the invitational with a 308 total. Mercyhurst came in second (308) after losing on a tiebreaker, while Humber, Roberts Wesleyan and Gannon all tied for third with a 311. The Lions finished sixth and then the second team tied for seventh (353).

Junior Alex Shindledecker tied for 18th place with a score of 79 and senior Cody Stinson tied for 38th, carding a 90 on the day. The fifth golfer for the first team was freshman Mark Peters tallied the final score of 94 to tie for 43rd.

The second team tied with the second team from Roberts Wesleyan with a 353. Freshman Andy Goss led with an 85 to tie for 33rd, while sophomore Noah Kunst had an 86 on the day for 35th place. Freshman JT Kuchnicki fired a 90 to tie for 38th and freshman Garrett Schlick tallied a 92 for third and fourth on the team, respectively. Sophomore Zac McCue recorded a 99 for the final score.
