PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona F Dwayne Jones had a strong pair of games for the Lions in another 2-0 week of AMCC play for his team. Jones helped lead his team to an eight-game win streak and a tie for first place in conference standings. In Wednesday night's win at Mount Aloysius, he scored 15 points while adding five rebounds, three steals, one assist, and one block. On Saturday, in a victory at Alfred State, he recorded his fifth double-double of the year with a season-high 23 points and a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with three steals and two assists. On the week, Jones averaged 19.0 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, 3.0 steals per game, and 1.5 assists per game. He shot an impressive 80.0 percent from the floor, going 16-for-20 from the field, while also being 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

 

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend G Tommy DiRienzo scored a career-high 32 points, knocking down a career-high 11 field goals at Hilbert on Wednesday, he then scored 17 vs. La Roche on Saturday, as he averaged 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists on the week...Alfred State G Paris Jamison led the Pioneers in a loss against Pitt-Bradford by scoring 23 and tallying three boards and two assists, before recording 19 points, seven boards and going 7-for-11 from the stripe in a loss to Penn State Altoona...Pitt-Bradford F Nathan Schneider became the 26th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone for Pitt-Bradford this week, as he averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game, including scoring 25 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and dishing out seven assists against Alfred State, and then finishing with 15 points, six assists, one steal and two blocks against Mount Aloysius...Pitt-Greensburg G JoJo France averaged 17 points and 3.5 assists this week, including six assists against Hilbert on Saturday...Hilbert G Quran Briggs led the Hawks to 1-1 record this week, averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds, including a 16 point, eight rebound performance in the 86-84 overtime win against Penn State Behrend...La Roche F Michael Brooks stepped up for La Roche this week while the Redhawks completed sweeps over Pitt-Greensburg and Penn State-Behrend, as he earned double-digit points in both contests (12 and 15) and was a complete momentum changer for the Redhawks in their road game against the Bobcats.
