BEHREND'S NILAND EARNS 500 CAREER VICTORIES

Head men's basketball coach Dave Niland earned his 500th collegiate victory at Penn State Behrend (5-3), guiding the Lions to a 76-60 victory over the Fredonia Blue Devils (3-4) on Wednesday night.

With a one-point lead with eight minutes left in the game, the Lions went on a 19-6 run to close out the game to get Niland the milestone victory.

Behrend outscored the Blue Devils 41-26 in the second half to turn a one-point lead at halftime into a 16-point win. Kenny Fukon tied a career-high 20 points, shooting 81.8 percent from the floor (9-for-11). The Lions are now 4-1 this season when four players reach double figures in points. Behrend shot a season-best 60.4 percent from the field, its best showing from the floor since the season opener at Thiel. PJ Gourley and Dorian Connors were two of the starting five also in double figures. Gourley had a career night with 16 points, knocking down a best six field goals including one triple. Connors pulled down a team-best seven rebounds to go with 10 points and three blocks.
