The AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week features Hilbert College (7-4) at Pitt-Greensburg (9-2). Through 11 conference games this season, both teams average in the lows 80s scoring, though the Bobcats hold their league opponents to 72 points per game while the Hawks surrender 80.5. Greensburg leads the conference shooting 48.5-percent from the floor and is ranked second in defensive field goal percentage (42) while Hilbert leads the league in rebounds (41.6) with a 14.4 offensive clears per game.

Hilbert senior G Masia Phillips is ranked fourth in the AMCC with 17.5 points per game and he, as well as senior backcourt mate Hunter Martineau, lead the conference in free throws per game, each sinking five on average after making at least seven attempts.  Martineau continues to quarterback the Hawks with 6.7 assists per game in conference and is #2 ranked in Division III with 117 total assists (7.3 apg overall). Senior Alex Karamanos joins Martineau with 16 starts this season and chips in 10 points per game while doing extra work on defense for his teammates. Freshman G Lazar Jovanovich can light-it-up from long distance after dropping 29 points against La Roche and 30 vs Altoona and freshman Jon Evans adds offensive punch in the paint with 10.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg in league action.

Pitt-Greensburg enters Saturday’s contest with an overall record of 13-3 and a 9-2 mark in conference play. The Bobcats currently sit in second in the conference standings and had their six-game win-streak snapped on Monday with a 98-82 loss at D’Youville. In the meeting between the two teams earlier this season, Pitt-Greensburg came away with an 82-62 victory at D’Youville and were fueled by Cam Seigfreid’s second career double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Offensively, Pitt-Greensburg ranks second in the conference averaging 82.6 points-per-game and on the defensive side sit third, giving up just 71.8 points. All season long, Pitt-Greensburg has displayed efficient shooting as they currently lead the conference in field-goal-percentage (49.4) as well as both three-point percentage (38.2) and free-throw percentage (74.0). Matt Johnson leads UPG in scoring, totaling just under 17 points (16.8), while Cody Spaid averages a team-high 7.4 boards per contest.
