BEHREND MEN EXPECTED TO FINISH IN TOP SPOT OF MEN'S BASKETBALL STANDINGS

After a 14-4 regular season finish one year ago, the Penn St. Behrend men’s basketball team has been selected to finish at the top of AMCC standings in 2018. Defending AMCC champion La Roche College is expected to finish second, with Hilbert College expected to round out the top three.

La Roche senior guard Ray Quan Phifer has been tabbed as the 2018 AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Phifer was an AMCC all-conference first team selection in 2018, and was named to the second team in 2017. Phifer finished the 2017-18 season ranked sixth in the AMCC in blocks, seventh in steals, eighth in field goal percentage, 11th in three-point field goal percentage and assists, and 12th in scoring.

The AMCC Championship will be held Sunday, February 24 at the site of the number one seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
