The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team will host D'Youville College on Wednesday night for their second matchup against the Spartans this season in the AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week. Tip-off is 8 p.m.

D’Youville is riding a two-game win streak into Wednesday’s game against the second place Penn State-Behrend Lions. D’Youville is coming off a 94-73 victory over the Pitt-Bradford Panthers on Monday evening. Four Spartans scoring in double-figures, led by Grant Beyer with 24 points and Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Those two have been the driving forces for the Spartans this season. VanDulutigaarden and Beyer are one-two in the conference in scoring with Jeremy scoring 17.3 PPG and Grant scoring 16.5 PPG. VanDulutigaarden is also third in the conference in rebounding with 9.8 RPG while Byer is fourth in the conference with a 44.4% three-point percentage. Senior starters Will VanAuken and Devon Camel have been outstanding defensive presences to compliment the scoring of the two big guns. Freshman Devon Darrell is the floor general for D’Youville and has been a welcomed addition at both ends of the court with his speed, vision, and quickness.

Behrend enters the game of the week winners of six of their past seven games. The Lions look to avenge a loss to D'Youville on the road back on Jan. 9. Behrend ranks first in NCAA Division III statistics in scoring defense, holding opponents to 60.5 points per game. Last time out, senior forward Dan Wanker became the  21st player in program history to hit the 1,000-point milestone. On Wednesday night, Wanker tallied 16 points, while Justin Gorny led the Lions with 23 points. Senior guard Andy Niland is two steals away from moving into second place on the program's all-time chart. For the season, Niland leads the Lions with 14.2 points per game, while Gorny is right behind him with 13.7.

Behrend is 20-1 against the Spartans dating back to the 1998-99 season. The Spartans got their first-ever win against the Lions this season by the final score of 73-71.
