BRADFORD'S PARENT, BEHREND'S HERZING TOP NCAA STATISTICAL CATEGORIES

Pitt-Bradford catcher Austin Parent and Penn State Behrend pitcher David Boehme each finished the 2017-18 baseball season in the top spots statistically in two different categories. 

Parent, the AMCC Player of the Year and an ABCA/Rawlings first team all-American, finished the season first in Division III with a .496 batting average and a .616 on base percentage. His .916 slugging percentage was second-best in the country. 

Boehme, an AMCC second team all-conference selection, finished the season first in Division III with 25 doubles, averaging 0.60 per game, also tops in the nation.

Others around the AMCC ranking in the top five in Division III include Pitt-Greensburg's Reno Rainey (3rd, 1.53 runs per game),  Behrend's Jack Herzing (3rd, 14.15 strikeouts per 9 innings), and Mount Aloysius College's Matthew McCourt (5th, 0.36 homeruns per game).

As a team, Penn State Altoona finished first in the nation in doubles per game with 2.84, while La Roche College's 29 triples on the season was also tops in DIII.
