D3BASEBALL.COM NAMES THREE AMCC BASEBALL STANDOUTS TO ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Pitt-Bradford catcher Austin Parent, along with La Roche College pitchers Shame Emrich and Tre Thomas, have all earned one of the highest honors in NCAA Division III as they have been named D3Baseball.com First Team All-Americans, officials announced Wednesday.

Parent led the conference and finished top-six nationally with a .491 overall batting average. His batting average is tied for third-best all-time in AMCC history. He led the nation with a .614 on-base percentage. Parent never cooled down in AMCC play, hitting .522, posting a .625 on-base percentage and slugging 1.014. In conference play, he led the AMCC in home runs (7), total bases (70), walks (19), on-base and slugging. Parent also ended the season riding a 15-game hitting streak. Behind the plate, he posted a .960 fielding percentage and threw out eight would-be base stealers. He picked up national honors on April 18 as he was named the NCBWA National Player of the Week and was also named to the D3baseball.com team of the week.

Emrich led the AMCC in saves (7) and ranked fourth in batting average against (117) in overall games. In addition to his seven saves, Emrich went 3-0 from the mound, throwing 25.1 innings and recording a 0.71 ERA. He also struck out 40 batters while walking only nine. 

Thomas ranked third in the nation in ERA (1.48 in 54.2 innings pitched). He led the AMCC in conference play in starts (5), wins (6), and ERA (1.15), while also ranking second in strikeouts (41) and third in innings pitched (31.1).
