Pitt-Bradford rising senior Ryan Boyer wrapped up a strong season of summer ball by picking up the Finals Most Outstanding Player award for helping the Jamestown Jammers to a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) championship last week.

The Bradford native tossed 3.2 total innings in relief during the three-game championship series and was credited with both wins. He struck out nine of the 15 total batters he faced. Boyer was especially sharp in the closing innings of the deciding game, dealing 2.1 scoreless innings while five of the seven total outs he recorded came by way of a strikeout -- including the final out to clinch the championship.

For his performance, the PGCBL named him the Final Most Outstanding Player.

Boyer put together a stellar season as a whole and earned a spot on the All-League First Team. The league All-Star tied for second-most in the league with seven saves while striking out 37 batters in 19 appearances and 25 innings pitched. He posted a perfect 4-0 record and an exceptional 1.44 ERA on the mound for the Jammers all season. 

Also helping the Jammers to the franchise's first title was rising Panther senior Austin Parent.

The Gilbert, Ariz., native collected nine hits and scored six runs while driving in as many runs in 21 games.

Founded in the fall of 2010, the PGCBL is a collegiate summer baseball league comprised of 13 summer baseball teams located across upstate New York in conjunction with Perfect Game USA, baseball's largest scouting service.

Players of all NCAA levels from all over the country play in the competitive wood bat league. Each year, the league adds to its long list of alumni playing professionally, highlighted by MLB veterans Hunter Pence and J.D. Martinez.

Boyer and Parent helped the Jammers to a league-best 31-14 record and a number one overall seed in the playoffs.
