BEHREND'S SADA EARNS CoSIDA FIRST TEAM ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

Penn State Behrend baseball infielder Scott Sada was named to the 2017 Division III College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.

Sada, a sophomore, earned a nod to the Division III District 4 First Team and will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second, and third-teams will be selected later this month.

Sada currently holds a 3.83 GPA in the plastics engineering program and is the only Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) player to be selected to the All-District squad.

On the field, Sada has a .358 average with a team-leading 48 hits, 14 doubles, five home runs, 38 RBI, 17 stolen bases, and a .619 slugging percentage.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. In addition, the student-athlete must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games in the position they are nominated for.
