PITT-GREENSBURG'S SCOTT ADAMS ELEVATED TO HEAD BASEBALL COACH

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg recently announced the promotion of Scott Adams to head coach of the baseball program.  Adams served as the program’s top assistant during the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 seasons.

During his tenure, Adams assisted the Bobcats in reaching a number of program highs, including Pitt-Greensburg’s first appearance in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Championship game in 2014, a school record setting win total of 24 in 2015, and a program best 13-3 regular season record and second place finish in 2016.

Upon assuming the mantle of Head Coach, Adams had the following to say. “I am extremely honored to be the next head baseball coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.  It’s always easy to say you got this opportunity through hard work, but in this case it was the amazing effort put forth by our players over the past four seasons that has given me a chance to fulfill a lifelong goal.  I know with the effort of our players we will continue to raise the bar at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.  I could not wish for a better place to be my first college head coaching position.  I can’t wait to begin this journey with our players.”

Adams began his coaching career in his hometown, he was hired as Belle Vernon Area’s Varsity Assistant Coach in 2007, then served as BVA’s Junior Varsity Coach in 2008, followed by stints as the school’s freshman baseball’s Head Coach in 2009 & 2011.  Adam’s progression continued in 2012 as Head Coach of the Greensburg Central Catholic High School baseball team before making the jump to the collegiate game in 2013.

Adam’s completed his collegiate studies at California University of Pennsylvania, graduating with High Honors with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.
