LA ROCHE BASEBALL EARNS TOP SEED IN NCAA MIDEAST REGION

The La Roche College baseball team has become the first AMCC Conference team to earn a #1 seed in an NCAA Regional after they got the top spot in the Mideast Region. The Redhawks will open with #8 seed Widener on Wednesday at 1:15pm at W&J's Ross Memorial Park.

La Roche is making their third consecutive NCAA Regional appearance and their second straight at Ross Memorial Field (Washington & Jefferson). Last season, the Redhawks won three regional games and made it all the way to the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship.

Widener is a familiar opponent. La Roche went 2-0 against the "Pride" earlier this season in Fort Pierce, Florida and they also played them in the 2014 NCAA Mideast Regional.

The rest of the NCAA Mideast Regional field includes #2 Randolph Macon, #3 Wooster, #4 The College of New Jersey, #5 Ohio Wesleyan, #6 John Hopkins, #7 St. Josephs (Long Island).

The NCAA Mideast Regional is a double elimination tournament hosted by Washington and Jefferson College.
