AMCC REPRESENTED ON ABCA/RAWLINGS ALL-REGION TEAM

The AMCC has landed five baseball players on the ABCA/Rawlings Mideast All-Region team. La Roche senior Tyler Ferguson was named to the second team, while Redhawk junior Tanner Wilt and seniors Cory Podvansik and John Watson were named to the third team. Penn St. Behrend sophomore Jack Herzing was also named to the third team.

Ferguson makes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team for the second consecutive season. He led the AMCC with a 0.32 ERA, while also ranking third in strikeouts (33) and fourth in strikeouts per game (10.61). He led the AMCC with four conference wins and nine overall, and gave up just one earned run against AMCC opponents. He threw two complete games in the NCAA Regional Tournament and finishes his career as the school's all-time leader in wins and strikeouts.

Wilt finished the year with a 4-1 record, a 1.91 ERA and 63 strikeouts. He ranked second in the AMCC with a 0.72 ERA and seventh in the nation at 12.06 strike outs per game.

Podvasnik broke the school's single season home run record with 11 homers this season. He ranked fourth in the nation in slugging percentage, eighth in on-base percentage, and 17th in home runs while also leading the AMCC in home runs, batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage. He ranked second in the AMCC in hit by pitches, third in runs and RBI, and in the top ten in total bases, walks and stolen bases.

Watson was one of the top offensive players in the AMCC ranking in the top five in batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage, triples, home runs, RBI, total bases and stolen bases. He also ranked 30th nationally in triples and finishes his career second on the school's home run list.

Herzing anchored the Lion pitching staff this season, as he was named second team all-conference and led the Lions to the 2015 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southwestern Championship. He led the AMCC in strikeouts (77) and finished second in ERA (2.31). He boasted an 8-1 record while holding an 11.88 strikeouts-per-game mark.
